Balance...a tricky thing to find here in Rwanda

Tonight I took the family out to dinner, and we did our traditional "HIGHS" and "LOWS" around the dinner table. There was laughter and good conversation. I am truly blessed with each member of my family. Thank you Jesus for giving me such wonderful children and a best friend and wife. I love you all. Posted by Picasa

I am learing more of the language

Some of the best teachers are children. I would take an item like book, and they would say the Rwandan word, and I would say the English. Posted by Picasa

This one did not scream and cry...PHEW!

Sometimes the little kids are freaked out by how WHITE I am...This one let me hold him, so adorable! Posted by Picasa

"the poor you will always have with you"...Jesus

I honestly do not understand why this is true. When you are here you get this terrible feeling in your gut that you are only contributing a tiny drop of water in an ocean of poverty. I have to constantly remind myself of GFR's tag line, that we need to look at transforming the world... one family at a time. God please help me remember this, and help me do my part. Posted by Picasa
